This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use Penned, an electronic document signing service operated by Earth Movers Network Inc.

We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). By using Penned, you consent to the handling of your information as described here. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us — though doing so may prevent us from providing the service.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, including encryption in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Some of our service providers may store or process data outside of Canada, in which case the information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Completed documents and their audit trails may be retained for the period necessary to support their evidentiary value and to meet legal and record-keeping obligations. When information is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymize it.

9. Children's privacy

Penned is not directed to individuals under the age of majority in their province or territory, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Penned after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
